Hey guys,

I have posted this in the customer service forums but am after a bit of advice in the mean time.

Yesterday I started having a few problems with my newly built HTPC where the computer randomly shut down a few times which gradualy got worse to the point where it would no longer load Windows. It would start lo load for a second or so and then the power would just drop out and would reset itself.

I re-seated all connections (4 Pin, 24 Pin and Sata to the SSD only for testing, all others disconnected), reset the BIOS, re-seated the CPU cooler and swapped the RAM with no luck - In the end I used some spare cables and hooked up the Corsair AX750 from my gaming rig and the HTPC fired into life staright away with no issues, pointing towards the OCZ being the culprit.

I'm not sure what is wrong with the PSU but I don't want to test further incase it takes any of my kit with it.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Edit:

Also what PSU would you advise to run in a HTPC/Light Gaming PC (Bitfenix Prodigy/ i3 3220, SSD, HDD and a GPU (unsure of which yet) and a few fans.

Should I be looking at around 400w to run this?

SM

I have the same PSU and I've never had any problems - is your shorting out or something? maybe overheating?

Don't think it's shorting - runs ok in BIOS, it's as soon as Windows starts to load and its not overheating as it happened on a cold boot after I got back from the gym.

I have re-installed Windows incase there was a driver issue stopping Windows loading but like I said as soon as I used a different PSU it booted straight away to the desktop.
