Hello

OCZ have created a drive in a bid to match the M4. After aquiring Indilinx OCZ have been working towards a new series of drives named the "Octane". Based on the Indilinx Everest SSD the specs mirror those of the M4 with the potential to exceed. Lets hope the controller has what it takes to de-throne the mighty M4 and Vertex 3 to take the top spot in the SSD ladder! :D

ETA on drives will be posted shortly :)

Any chance of in house benchmarks comparing them against the M4 and V3? :p

It's hard to see how they will be better from just looking at the specs alone!

Look at the vertex 3 specs and agility specs.. they dwarf the M4 but who sits on top with the IOPS and the small file read/writes eh ;)

Exactly, thats what I said. You can't tell anything from specs so it's just opinion till otherwise seen :)

In theory the Indilinx controller should perform more like the marvell if past controllers are anything to go by. Your quite right about who knows whats going to happen in terms of performance but I did say "lets hope" after all ;)

Mainly interested because I fell for the trap myself, went for the V3 because its specs looked quite amazing. Was more expensive than an M4 too, so to see it lose out to it, was a little frustrating.

I did the very same thing so I know what your saying. The V3 is better for games and video editing though from the tests I have done.

As an OS drive I prefer the M4 so I went down that route too! :)
