Well I finally RMA'd my OCZ power supply that died within 6 months which I think is pathetic considering I have a £15 PSU that lasted 4x that and it's still going strong......

I asked if they could send me anything other than another mk1 stealth xplosion even a mk2 one would have been great here's the reply I got from OCZ....

Regarding your concern, you will be getting the same model for it is the one you
originally purchased so this will be the warranty replacement. If this PSU fails
again then we can take further action from there. But as for the time being, we are
replacing your OCZ product with the one you originally purchased.

So not only have I paid for a poor quality PSU I've now paid to have my PSU replaced with another poor quality PSU.... NEVER EVER going to buy another OCZ product again!

It's not that bad a PSU... You were unlucky.
How much did you pay to send the PSU to OCZ?

What is the £15 PSU running and what is the OCZ running? Although it's quite irrelevant, I just wonder what sort of stress it sees.

Sometimes things break. Also, don't buy OCZ again, they wont miss you. :)

The Mk1 is an awful PSU theres so many people that have had them die on them it's not even funny especially when it was plugged into a UPS as well!

The £15 PSU is actually running more than the OCZ did, the OCZ was running an Athlon II X4 620 with a single 260GTX and 4 HDD's which is nothing for a 600watt psu.

I was hoping to swap the £15 one for the OCZ but I feel my hardware is safer with the cheap PSU.

Paid £18 to send it back, so if this no longer produced power supply they're going to send me dies as quickly then I'm up to £36 and could have bought something more reliable :o

This isn't even the only one I've seen die a machine I built for someone else using one that also died, he didn't bother to RMA his though.

When it costs so much to RMA the power supply I don't really want to have to keep paying to send it back because I'm fairly confident it'll die again....

Even if they offered a 400watt mk2 stealth xtreme I would have been happy.

Well my PSU was collected by DHL on monday and the replacement arrived today which is shockingly fast and it would appear people at OCZ don't like to communicate with each other as when I opened the box I found.....

A nice new OCZ ModXStream Pro 600watt :D
