odd 3Dmark results - check please

i haven't ran a 3dmark for awhile and i was going to try the new drivers so i thought i'd do a before and after. Anyway, i used to have 1gig ram and a 3000+ (at 2.5ghz) but now have 2gigs and a 4800+ (at 2640mhz) - i hadn't tested since i got the new processor.

i have a 7800GT (470/1.18)

here are the old drivers:
84.56

03 - 6825
05 - 5826
06 - 3729

i can't remember what my old scores where but these seemed very low.

new drivers:
91.36

03 - 15747
05 - 7727
06 - 4181

i big (and odd) increase.
how are these scores - they still seem a little low to me (as far as i can remember the old scores)

i have had no problems in other applications/games - the performance has been very good.

these scores make me not want to trust 3dmark

edit: i've just noticed that in my drivers the AF is set as 8x for the default.

Your second set of scores arn't that far off and if you set your AA/AF to application preference (as they should be) you should be on target.

second set of scores are bang on for a single 7800gt. You old scores are just wrong for that setup. (possibly had v sync, AA and AF on)

just did a 05 score with Af off and got 8013 - more like what i was expecting.

no idea what was happening with the old scores - didn't have v sync or AA on.

an odd thing happened a few minutes ago after a 05 test all i had was a black screen with the cursor and had to shutdown the pc (lucky i know the keys off by heart) - hopefully won't happen again.
