Odd behaviour...

So I am driving on the M1 today back from a business meeting in Leeds. Anyone who knows that route south will know there is an awful lot of 50mph, slow traffic, speed camera hell. I like everyone around me am slowly making my way south in what becomes stop start traffic. I reckon I must have averaged 40mph along the stretch. I have my window open listening to my car bounce of the concrete walls but never really topping 50mph. I go like this for miles genuinely just minding my own business and driving normally.

As we reach the end of the traffic, back into the full speed zone I look in my mirror and see a man in a new Skoda Superb, I think that's the bigger one, showing the universal W sign out his windscreen. I think that can't be for me, he has been behind me for miles and all of sudden I see this. As we speed up I pull over and sure enough he drives past giving me another sign, this time referencing someone called Richard Head (I think).

I think WTF, gesticulate as much and again he gives me the W sign. I did NOTHING bar drive. I wasn't doing anything at all, simply in traffic with everyone else thinking about a weekend relax. I was so annoyed by this, I managed to get the person next to me to take a picture of him and here it is as I drove past him.

If you see this man blow him a kiss for me will you. People are really very strange and I can't understand the bitterness of people who get so stressed up about nothing, genuinely, nothing. If I had been driving like an idiot, we all do once in a while then fair cop, but I was genuinely just going about my day pootling along.

Ive been driving a long time, Ive seen all sorts, but this bloke was just so angry at the world it made me laugh. The angst in his face was hilarious, he was genuinely angry for a reason no one but him could understand. Wasn't lane hogging, wasn't blocking, wasn't driving in anyway aggressively, wasn't bumper riding (he was behind me) and was just driving like everyone else. Odd ****

What lane were you in?

Lanes 2 and 3 in stop start traffic with a 50mph camera controlled limit. No, I wasn't sitting in the outside lanes with nothing inside, it was not that...

What were you driving? Did he mistake the sound of your car bouncing off the walls as you ragging it maybe?

I was in the R8 and he may have done but I am genuine here, I didn't rag it at all. It does sound loud, and makes a great fake heel/toe noise on a down change, but I reckon I was below 4K RPM the entire run of camera controlled traffic. If he was angry at the noise then frankly he needs even more derision and I am genuine here, I was not giving it anywhere near full beans.

Ive never had a car that gets such a positive reaction. Bar this cretin today and some old fudge packer on a push bike down my local country lane who was simply looking to kick off with any car I've only had excellent comments and positivity. Guess this is why I found this odd.

I give them the thumbs up and grin at them. What can they do then? Always baffles them.

I blew him a kiss, that got him even more annoyed it seemed.

The roads are full of idiots, I was heading down the M6 last night, after 11ish due to roadworks it's down to one lane,50mph limit, bearing in mind I'm in an artic following a long line of artics a car behind kept flashing and weaving to my left and right, I pulled as far over to the left as I could so numb nuts could see I was following a line of flowing traffic (and for me to be sure it wasn't police or an ambulance) and I carried on, once the road went back to three lanes around Sandbach I moved back to the near side lane along with the rest of the trucks.

Numb nuts then proceeded to brake check me three times before driving off slowly, he pulled into Keele services so I decided to follow him in, he stopped blocking the entrance to the HGV park getting out and ranting at me he was going to phone the police(!) fine I said, it's all on my dash cam, with that he got back in his car and drove off....

I've no idea what his problem was, I'm certain I'd done nothing other than be in front of him to get his goat, but, had my truck been loaded he'd have had a rather flat car!(thankfully it was empty having just unloaded at Morrisons distribution centre in Northwich)

Trucker hatred? Dislike of Eddie Stobart perhaps? Had a barney with his Mrs? Who knows.
The roads are full of cretinous idiots alas.

Ive seen this sort of stuff before, other motorists getting angry with other people for no apparent reason. One person really angry, the other just looking with the WTF face, I've just never experienced it before with no apparent reason for their angst.

Maybe he caught his wife getting some BBC? Maybe he just got fired? i just move over or ignore people like this, you never know why they are upset and angry they could be going through some bad times.

His wife took the photo so not sure it was that..

We all go through bad times, I've never felt the need to abuse some random because of my **** life.
