Odd bird behaviour...

Idly looking out across the river, a huge flock of birds took off from a building on the opposite bank and then landed on the river in one long line...

Ran to get my camera but most had dispersed by the time I took a pic:

Very odd...they're all back on the roof they sit on almost constantly.

Probably a convoy of worms moving up the river. Looks like the birds' ambush was successful.
