Hi there,

My NTL cable internet went offline at about 11pm last night and was still offline this morning, so I rang the technical support who ran some tests and discovered that I was apparantly connected to the wrong exchange, so they fiddled about a bit and I was reconnected this afternoon. Now what puzzles me is that I was on and paying for the 2mb service but I noticed when downloading a file a couple of hours ago that I was downloading at 1.2mb/sec. Did a quick speedtest and it seems ive been put on the 10mb service:

Now this is all well and good, but I dont want to have to foot a massive bill a couple of months down the line, should I ring them up and tell them? Or am I in a safe position? Many thanks.

Its there mistake, you could argue that you didnt notice any difference in speed and therefore had nothing to inform them of. So I would say your safe.

It's happened to me before, back in the day i was on their 512K service and I was recieving 1mb and being charged for 512k. Then there was a whole year on business 2mb at work completely free :D which they found out about a couple of months ago when all of a sudden their system got rid of us and had no customer record for the year.
