I've got a Lian Li PC-201b case.
Now, it's a very *nice* case, but after just fitting in my latest bits to it, i'm beginning to wonder if these upside down case designs are thought out properly with regards to thermal design.
I've just fitted the following:-
QX6700
Zalman 9500AT cooler
Evga 680i mobo
2 * 7800GTX in SLi
X-Fi card
Enermax Liberty 620w PSU
4 * 320gb Seagate Hdd's
1* 74gb Raptor
and a lonly DVD drive
Now the problem comes with the SLi kit being at the top of the case. they are pushing hot air from the top rear of the case to the top middle. The exhaust fan on the side is pulling air out of the case at the point where two gfx cards are trying to get air in to push through their heatsinks.
and my other main gripe...there's no removable board tray.
I love the way the case has a huge space below for up to 12 HDD's and a thunking great big PSU or a nice watercooling setup space, but the top section of the case is just leaving me scratching my head a bit as to how to best deal with the heat.
Two other options would be for me to replace the PC-201 with either a PC-A10 or a TJ-07.
The PC-A10 has a more conventional top section with the board being faced the 'normal' way up but with some sacrifice to drive storage ability.
The TJ-07, would give me a similar setup, with a bit more drive storage in the bowels of the case and a similar setip to the PC-A10 for the board layout.
So, thoughts on a postcard to the usual forum please.
