Hi guys,
weird one. My new build PC just started making an odd noise. Sticking my ear near the open side of my case and slowly moving my head around, I've found the noise is coming from the CPU area. To describe it, it sounds like a very faint constant tone, similar in pitch to the old computer speaker (and I know for a fact the speaker isn't connected as my case hasn't got one!). It seems to 'beep' in time with the HDD activity light. ie. Constant tone with breaks that are exactly in synch with the HDD light. It only seems to start after Windows Vista (32 bit edition) has got past the log in screen. To add insult to injury I can hear it through the speakers as well. I've tried disabling all audio, but it still comes through the speakers. I was thinking it may be an electrical problem so re-routing the speaker cables may stop the speakers 'singing' away....but.....doen't stop the PC. Equipment wise:
Got an overclocked bundle from overclockers:

Zalman 850 PSU
Asus GTX 285
Creative Audigy 4 Pro
Two hard disks, one IDE, one SATA (SATA is my primary)
1xDVD RW
1xfloppy
USB Wireless adapter
lots of fans with a Skythe fan controller
Please help. It's driving me slightly insane!
