I bought a beast of a rig off overclockers a year ago, and it has worked like a dream. However about a year ago, for some reason I was having problems getting it to boot.

I would press he power button, the lights would turn off but then it sounded as if the fans wouldn't start to full speed or maybe not all of them, and the boot sequence wouldn't start or bleep.

It would just sort of power on but not start up to full speed. Anyway, i took it to the computer shop and they tested it there for a good week and said it was fine and all diagnostics would run fine.

Anyway i took it home and after a few days it started to power on.

No problems since.

About 2 months ago I've been having the following problems. Nothing I could pop my finger on just;

1# a lot of artifacting when running games like cs, tf2. would start on the game start menu not ingame

2# Recently, I have been having some problems with windows not booting up. ie it would start boot, but before windows it would blue screen. i could run it in safe mode + networking but that's all. windows vista btw.

Anyway, the other day I swapped a dvd burner from my sister's pc into mine. There was also a power surge in the house.

Anyway, the problem is now my pc won't even power on full stop. ie when I press the button no power or activity at all. blown psu?

my sister's psu blew too i think but i swapped that and now it will power on but not boot bios and windows. ie the fans just run kind of silently.

please help, the local computer shop has charged me £100 for 1 hour or "indepth review".

thanks :)

I've taken it to the computer shop.

Sadly I don't have all the spare stuff on me to test everything one by one...

those guys are rip off guys but that's life !!!
