Hi
my sandy bridge is prime stable @4.7ghz however it falls over running the cpu tests on 3d mark 11.
pulling back to 4.5ghz and all seemed ok, however, when playing crysis i was getting an odd glitch where the game would freeze for maybe half a second, with the sound sticking, before carrying on as normal.
I played dirt for around an hr without issue, and then mid game it did the same thing, however unlike crysis this "stick" lasted for maybe 5 seconds before it fell back to desktop.
Now this is i am sure overclocking related, i never saw such a thing at stock, however before i go down to 4.4ghz i am wondering if anyone else has seen this, and if there is any settings i can tweak. My voltage is at 1.35v and i do not want to go any higher.
I am new to modern PC over clocking (my last chip being an X2 4200) but I always thought prime was the daddy for cpu stress testing, however even @ 4.7ghz my computer can run hour after hour, on both blended and cpu stress testing.
also, the crysis glitch..... how is it that the cpu can fall over, but then seemingly correct itsself? Is this normal?
cheers
