was wondering if any one else is having the same issue ?
if you see the picture below

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

my crossfire set up is only using 80% of one card and 95+ of the other this is resulting in stuttery performance has any one else had this problem ?

Also if you wondering why the big diffrences in heat one is water cooled which is my everyday card as in desktop mode the other one turns off

And what drivers are best for this set up ?

Cheers in advance

I think this is a case of new cards and drivers that are not optimised for BF3. You will most likely get better game experience when newer drivers are released that improve CF in BF3. My two cents anyway.. you can try creating your own profile for CF in that game but it could be drivers. I don't have my 7970 yet to test.

Mr May, I have almost the same setup as you, crossfire 7970s and having major problems with BF3

Might i suggest we hook up and try to figure out the problem, I'm in Derby too

let me know, pm me if you can (new to these forums) even if its just to chat/compare symptoms/fixes

Hello there, If you set up your rtust system with an email i can email you through that as the PM service on here has never worked for me

it was sue to CCC over clocking one card you have to drop a menu down for the second card and set the overclock for the other card

I have 6950's guys and i get this same issue. Are you usng vsync? If so try and disable that and i think the usage will go up a bit, still won't be 99% on both cards though which is a shame.

You guys using the 12.2's officials out now? if not, give them a whirl possibly? I've got the 2x6990's, when using one of these, I get around 85-95% on both cores... when using 2x6990, I get around 50% used on all four cores...

There's usually a variance on all four cores of around say 5-8% I think when all running.. but nothing more than 10% at any one time.

As stupid as it sounds, ensure both cars running at same speed... as I've seen people running differents speeds and obviously both will run at lowest speed... but you never know, could be doing something weird with them being recent cards?

Mr May

email me sacriel.cb at gmail dot com or mace at themace dot co dot uk

RAM Kingston HyperX Genesis 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel (KHX1600C9D3K3/12GX)

Just got 2 M4 SSD to RAID 0 for my boot drive, currently on a gen1 ssd raid

I think you guys with cf 7970's have your setup wrong as there's a few on here with the same setup having no problems at all.

I get that feeling too, but I have no idea what I could be doing wrong

using the latest CAPS and drivers, 850w coolermaster PSU, 12gb ddr3 ram, gigabyte x58 udr3 mobo

rest of my PC is pretty fast, I just cant get the performance out of the cards

I have no problems whats so ever XFX 7970 black xfire in any games.

Yes I know dude, I was implying those in this thread with problems :)

Well the latest drivers (12.2) on my single 7970 are screwy, so i'm on the RC11's from 25th Jan - A much better driver imo. Have you checked all the settings in the Catalyst Control Center.

Also, when booting up, open task manager and tell me how long clistart runs for before ccc autoruns?

Are you running a oc CPU, the x58 chipset has issues with more than 6gig of ddr3 and a oc (memory controller). I have a Gigabyte extreme x58 and it took some setting up to get 12gig of ddr3 and a i7 920 @4gig. Since i had my xfire 7970`s it became more unstable in BF3 so i took 6gig out makes no difference but 100% more stable. I think BF3 shows up any flaws because it utilizes so much of a Pc`s power

BF3 is very sensitive to flaws in OC and stability of the system.
