Behind you... Naked!
Here is one that has me beaten well and truly.

My mother has an issue in that she is getting kicked off the internet all the time.

Her Broardband is BT, the router is the black curvy one, her O/S is Windows 7 64Bit, if that will help at all.

Anyway... after some messing about, it turned out to be her PC.

She was ok with her ipad and so we left it like that until I could go back and have a better play about. ( She lives miles away and I am at present totally reliant on a friend to drive me and so time is not on my side )

Anyway, yesterday we went back. We took a USB wireless dongle, and I have a spare BT Homehub same as hers, I also took ethernet cable and a load of software that I could use to clean her system out and do some checking while I was there.

Now, she is using AVAST, it is fully up to date and that has found NOTHING even on a full deep scan. CCleaner cleaned out a hell of a load of junk, and it is now defragged and running nice.

She did have a load of iffy software that I did not like the look of, and I am bloody annoyed that I dont remember any titles and so they might help us, I dont know, but they are removed from the Add/Rem Progs list.

I have used AUTORUNS to also go through her start up apps and there is absolutely NOTHING in there that I can see thats out of the ordinary.

But...

Every time she starts her PC up, the router kicks her off the internet.

We get to the desktop and by that time, its back up again.

Also, at completely random times, when she tries browsing, again, it disconnects and reconnects.

This makes browsing almost impossible.

Here is the kicker.

It does this with both the onboard LAN and a PCI card LAN, but also with 2 different wireless adapters too!

EH?

I have brought the PC back to my place to try out and I have totally given up.

What I decided to do, was put a new HD in and install Win7 back on for her, completely fresh and then copy her files back over from her old HD, but now guess what? The bloody Windows wont find the HD ( BIOS does ) and no matter whather I use IDE, SATA or RAID mode, Windows wont find it, and even when I tell it where the SATA / RAID drivers are, it still wont.

Is this a failure, or a start of a failure of the Motherboard?

I am completely lost.

The PC is a cheap and nasty zoostorm, but its only a couple of months old.

Its a 2.5Ghz AMD APU job bought from competitor.

When you say it's disconnecting the internet, do you mean from this particular PC, all devices in the house or the actual router itself is dropping connection?

This PC is causing the router to disconnect

When we had this PC turned off, it allowed my mum to use the internet just fine with her ipad for days.

Use this PC and the router disconnects, right as it starts up, every time, re connects when the desktop comes up and then randomly disconnects when we try using the internet.

Very weird.

There is NOTHING that I can find thats causing it.
