I hope you can help me as I'm tearing my hair out with this one!!

It basically started out with a problem downloading email, so when I wen to visit I found that the pop3 connector service had stopped. When I tried to start it, it wouldn't let me (didn't start in a timely fasion)

From here on in, the server is now behaving very oddly, I cannot install any kind of software, it just freezes on install and have to end task it. General pauses when trying to browse files, can't run the sbs admin console (just pops up saying its busy)

I have now managed to get the pop 3 connector to start but it sems to use about 50% cpu and it does nothing!. I've tried moving all the messages out of the queue folders but that still doesn't help.

The hardware all appears to be ok too after some testing. The server has dual p3 1400's, 1gb ram, and 6 18gb disks in raid 5.

There is no spyware or viruses on here either. Anything I can try? I would install sp1a for sbs, but as I can't load up the admin console, I can't see if its already got that on there. Would it cause a problem if I installed it again?

Thanks, Arron.

Just run the service pack install again - if it's already installed, it will complete pretty quickly or tell you it doesn't need installing.

Also, go to Windows update and patch it up the the eye balls.

It's also worth checking Event Viewer to see if there are any other errors or warnings which might point to the problem.
