Odd graphical error TF2

So when I enter a server, my audio immediately locks up, playing whatever the first split second of sound was rapidly creating white noise, and my screen goes all multicoloured and blury. I can't alt-tab out or anything so have to reboot my machine. It's only just started happening and doesn't affect any other games.

Thoughts?

There's a repair option? I can find verify and defrag etc but no repair.

That's the option. Use verify, and if there is a file missing / damaged then it'll download it again and fix it.
