odd happenings with x-fi extreme music - loss of bass?

Hi there.

Recently got this card, very very happy with it
only a couple of times now, the sound has gone funny, like it losses the bass from the sound, but its all back to normal once i click return to default settings.

Anyone had this happen? im wondering if its just a software bug or something.
