Odd hardware issue

RAM has not helped
Disconnecting HDD hasn't helped
Loosened CPU cooler a little to ensure the board traces aren't being dodged, didn't help

Interestingly when I span up cinebench, it crashed instantly. Reset the PC, started again and it was fine. Then about 45sec in, crashed again. Potentially CPU?

It's fully stock, never OC'd or anything

I'm a complete noob at this. How do I do that? In ryzen master?

If you go to profile 1 and set manual at the top then you click the CCDs and can just edit the cores to 4.0 then hit apply at the bottom.

Put in a new CPU, crashed again. Argh, must be the board

No, but I'm scared to update the bloody thing in case it crashes

It's on the latest stable BIOS, later one is a BETA

I would try the beta as you have nothing to lose at this point and looking at the bios that are available the last non beta one for the pro carbon released around 4 months before the actual 5000 series CPUs and if I remember they had a lot of bugs that needed ironing out.
