odd html/css issue with giving a link an id called footerAd

i have an image on screen load fine. then i add a link around it to no location. still works fine. then i add the id name to that link as footerAd and it disappears. completely gone and i cannot do anything to bring it back even changing the styling to stuff that should bring it or adding text inside the link.

changed the id to footerAdvert and it's fine. i've checked and checked and there is no reference to footerAd anywhere so extremely odd.

anyone had anything like this before?

Do you have AdBlock on your machine?

yeah i do. how odd. i just disabled on localhost and problem solved. wonder why that is

It's set-up to block things which are called footerAdvert, or anything which sounds like it's probably going to be an advert basically - try renaming it to something else, i.e. footerFoo.
