Hi all,
I have what started as a minor little irritation in Internet Explorer that is now beginning to grind my gears. Whenever I start an IE session, if I have another IE running somewhere else (as I frequently do at work) then as soon as I press a key then priority of the windows shifts. In other words, if I open IE window B while I have IE window A running, I press a key and find myself typing in Window A not B as desired. This gets really annoying when trying to log in work systems etc.

I'm running IE6 (SP2) on a Windows XP Pro system.

This has been the case ever since I received a new laptop. My old system didn't do this so there must be some setting that is different but IT here are useless and its not even worth asking them.

Any ideas?

I'd really recommend moving away from IE for obvious reasons now (even covered by the BBC), other than that, cant help sorry.

Addicted - Believe me I would but, for some strange reason, the IT group seems to frown on my suggestion of using Firefox. Worse still is that within a year my entire company (a very large international affair) will go over to an entirely MS-based software suite. *shudder*

Yeah.. if they won't let you install a better browser, surely they'll at least let you upgrade to IE7. IE6 was released in 2001 and is seriously outdated.

We are allowed to update anything on the machine. We regularly get XP auto-updates but they won't update IE itself as it is tied into a huge number of systems/programs that we use and they all have to be validated. It took the company 2 years to update to XP from 2000.
