Odd interference issue through speakers

I wonder if anyone has had the same issue as me before...essentially what seems to happen is anything with a speaker (ie hifi, radio) when switched on receives a short blast of interference/white noise infrequently.

I think Ive linked it with the switching on and off the central heating boiler which does this automatically to heat the water. Any idea how its causing this and how I can fix it? Its mildly annoying!

Cheers.

Could be dirty mains, try using a different socket you might be on the same ring as a particularly electrically noisey piece of equipment.

There are solutions out there it is the mains but although not prohibatively expensive they aren't the sort of thing you want to be spending out on if you don't need them.

It also happens downstairs on a clock radio :( Im sure the blast of noise coming through the speakers coincides with the central heating boiler kicking in.

You can get extension sockets that also clean up the mains and act as a surge protector.

I couldn't recommend any particular one though.
