I decided to replace my ageing Sky Netgear router with something newer, a cheapie tp link W8960N.
I set it all up but the new router was DOA, powered up but no machines could connect to it, so I went back to the original sky router..... All of a sudden it won't pick up a connection.
The network works fine, all machines connect as usual to it, the router just can't see that a DSL cable is connected.
I've tried many different microfilters, cables, resetting and everything else sky recommended before saying they will send a replacement router.
Could the borked tp-link have done something to the line? Or is it simply a coincidence that the sky router has failed at precisely that point? Line tests from sky show no faults :-\
Any suggestions are appreciated!
