Odd issue with Flash banner

Guys,

I hope someone can help shed light on an odd issue I am having. My flash banner will occasionally fail to play, leaving a blank space..
This only occurs on the index page and not on any of the other pages built with the same Dreamweaver template and thus containing the same code. It also only seems to happen in IE...and only on one machine here...
Very strange.

Any ideas?

I downgraded the swf to Flash Player 6 and Action Script 1.0. No change.
I have tried moving the animation to the root directory, detaching the page from the template and even re-creating it...same result..

What method are you using to embed the Flash?.

Are you embedding it via the DW menus? : Insert > Media > Flash?.

If so, the way DW embed's Flash is clunky at best, try using SWF Object instead :-

Have not tried CS4 yet but apparently SWF Object is the default method that Adobe now use within DW CS4 instead of the old method.

If you do look into it, I recommend the .AIR based Generator which can be had from the link above.

Been using it for a while now and I've not had any issues thus far with embedded Flash.

Thanks for the replies. I am very interested to discover that Dreamweaver does not embed flash as well as it might. Never had a issue before. I am now using CS4.
