Odd issue with onboard Displayport

I have a ROG Gsync monitor which is connected by displayport, as thats the only connection!, to my motherboards displayport- ASUS Z170i Pro Gaming, 16GB Ram, 6700k @ 4GHZ.

Now, in order for me to get any signal on the monitor, i have to plug in a monitor by HDMI otherwise I get black screen. I have tried a different HDMI monitor but it only works with one of them

I have latest Intel graphics driver, Windows 10 fully updated and at a loss of what to do as I dont really want to change monitor or buy a GPU as it is only work I am doing

Any ideas would be gratefully received

Managed to pick up a cheap Corsair 120mm AIO and Kraken G12 so will stick that on a spare GPU that I have and see what that does

Can you at least see BIOS when trying to jump into that during boot?

it will only go into BIOS on the HDMI screen which is such a low resolution that I cant even see the top options to do anything- I should get the order in the next few days so hopefully that will sort it
