Odd issue with turtle beach p11

Right, this is something i've never come across before.

I've plugged my turtle beaches into my pc, but i'm getting strange interference through the headset, noise is identical to capacitor whine.

Unplugged the jack but kept the usb plugged into my pc and plugged the jack into my iphone, no interference whatsoever, could my motherboard be faulty?

Possible but not necessarily. I assume then you are using on board audio. Have you eliminated possible external interference? E.g dect phone base station anywhere near. Try to eliminate fans. They could also be the cause. Try moving cables around to see if it has any effect. Psu could be culprit in a round about way. Although if it were the psu you'd likely have other symptoms. You could also try a plug in audio card if you have one. I can't imagine it being a driver issue but may be worth reinstalling drivers. Clutching at straws admittedly but worth a try - it's quick and costs nothing.
