Odd iTunes embuggerance

I've noticed this recently - my music will skip slightly at the start of songs. Only a little judder, and if you go back to the beginning of the same song it doesn't do it again, but when you get to the next song, sure enough it does it again.

WTF? Any ideas why this may be happening? It does it on every song, I think. Very annoying.

It's a Macbook, 2.0ghz, 2gb RAM, and a 250gb 5200rpm drive in it.

Any ideas much appreciated

Actually, it's also just doing it at random all the way through songs

I've had a restart since then, so it may have been different at the time, but I opened the same apps I think I had open to recreate it, and it's this:

It's still doing it - I honestly can't remember if it was doing it when I had a couple less apps open. I shall investigate.

Another fresh restart, it doesn't seem to be doing it now. RAM usage as below.

This is annoying. I should be able to normal stuff without my music skipping. This hasn't happened since about 1997, and that used to skip because I was playing a game :/
