I have noticed a very strange sound from my PC these last 2 days. It sounds like a small piece of paper stuck in a fan. I opened the side panel and it sounded like the GPU fan, I place the tip of my finger close so the fan just caught me but didnt stop, the sound stopped.
I have now got my PC on its side on a table open. The sound has gone. But when the PC is upright, the sound starts, sometimes loud, other times quiet and comes and goes.
My PSU has a VERY faint (can hear if you put your ear on it) sound, slightly metallic and like something very tiny stuck in a fan and slightly buzzing. It also sounds like a fan going fast and the bearing being used. The PSU is an Antec TRUE Power 650 and is about 19 months old.
The GPU is same age, but fan is about 8 weeks or so old.
The really strange thing is, the odd noise comes from the GPU but NOTHING is stuck in the fans as I cleaned it out.
Nothing is over heating, and the sound is similar to cap squeal but not as loud or high pitch.
Ideas guys, I'm all out of them...
