Hey all, currently at :

2800mhz san diago, 255mhz FSB, 3x, ram around 200, 166setting,

TRYING to get the FSB (chipset) speed up as I wanna see what it can handle as want a 3800x2, and to get to the 2700mhz speeds ill need high fsb, iv tried 300mhz cpu multi at 9x, ram lowered to conform to around 200, doesnt boot , tried lots of others, how on earth can the chipset not go above 255, got it at 1.71v at mo, what should I do ?

right pulling hair out time, just tried 5 diff settings, hoping it would do 10.5 x 266 (for 2800 i KNOW this cpu can do), 3/4 ram setting, 1.9v chipset, 1.550 v core, 2.71v ram, 1.4 LDT

NOTHING, just hangs, yet if i do 255x11, 1.550v core, 1.69v chipset, 2.69ram,1.3v LDT, 5/6 ram setting, runs 100% rock stable

Reckon you can do anything with an X2 4400+ that wont go past 2.6GHz stable?

2600MHz @ 289 x 9,
x3 LDT.
vCore 1.5v

RAM is running at about 200. Not sure what divider I am using - its a DFI one - but I know my RAM really really hates going past 215 and the mem controller on my X2 seems to struggle with anything much above 205 :(

keep the ram as close to 200mhz as you can. Make sure you have the lastest bios. keep temperatures below 40c if you can.

Ha! In this heat my load temps are at about 51C.

To be honest unless I go for some more agressive cooling than air I may have to just accept my CPU isn't gonna go much further if at all.
