Hi,

I've a really odd printer issue on a remote site.

2 printers Xerox Phaser 6500 and and Xerox Phaser 3320.

Every day I have to remote in and remove old printers from a Windows 7 PC and set the printers back up, the issue is the IP addresses have changed.

What's really odd, is that 2 other machines on Win 8/10 aren't having the same problem.

I'm going to look at setting a static IP for the printers, but, as the other 2 machines aren't having this issue I'm not 100% that will fix it, or does Win8/10 auto update IP of connected devices?

Any ideas?

add using printer name not by ip
if its still losing connection is dns updating correctly

but why is the ip resetting would be the first question, is someone switching the printer off before they go home?

Tried printer name first, then IP's.

I'm remoting in later so will check DNS and I don't think they switch anything off, they've been told to leave everything on but it's another thing I'll check.

And the IP being shown for the one printer is actually a Yealink phone...
