Odd problem - can't launch apps after idle

This is a very odd one which I'm struggling to sort out.

I have a new build, windows MCE installed, and sometimes after leaving the PC untouched for say 30 mins, something goes wrong and I can’t launch any other applications. No errors, just nothing happens. If I close an app, I seem to be able to launch another, as is there is a cap on the number of applications/windows running at that time.

I’ve checked alert logs and nothing is logged when this happens.

I have a few things running in the background, trillian, AVG, kerio firewall, the x-fi volume panel and windowblinds. I’ve tried closing these one by one and it doesn’t help when it happens.

A reboot is then called for. The shutdown then takes a long time when this happens, and a log entry with “ userenv: windows cannot unload your classes registry file – it is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded when it is no longer in use” appears in the application events.”

I’ve now suspect some of the creative stuff, some people had trouble with the DLLML process, so its no longer being loaded and I’ll keep an eye on it.

I’ll try a memtest next.

In the meantime if anyone has any ideas I’ll appreciated it.

For anyone interested this was down to the DLLML process. I disabled it together with CTHELPER, and CTXFIHLP and the problem has gone away. Weird.
