I got my Sennheiser HD595's today and the first thing I did was plug them into the back of my xfi music to replace my PC151 headphones using the included 6.3-3.5mm adapter.
They sound terrible, even on low volume it sounds like the music is clipping/distorted
Turning down the bass etc though creatives software doesn't make a blind bit of difference.
After that I plugged them into my tv, whacked up the volume and flicked though various sky music channels and it sounded brilliant. Same goes for them connected up to my ipod and using my motherboards onboard sound.
I'm lost as to what it can be as the old headphones sound fine though the xfi still.
The only difference being is the old ones don't require the use of the adapter to fit but if the adapter was faulty it would sound crap on my tv/ipod/onboard too so that rules that out.
Tryed different drivers too which didn't change a thing.
I'm hoping its something silly I,ve missed or someone on here has a rough idea as to what might be causing it
