Odd problem - Video included.

This is the spec of the machine:

Gigabyte h55-ud2h
4 gb corsair ram
antec 300
500gb spinpoint f3
i3 - 530
500 watt corsair psu

Hmm, I would almost say thats a fault with the gpu, I assuming your using the integrated one.

This is an on going problem forgot to mention, brand new motherboard a few weeks back. Brand new 500 watt PSU.

Latest video drivers,
Latest BIOS.

The gpu on these is integrated into the cpu!

What would you say the problem is then? The CPU itself?

Does this happen only when speed-fan is opened or a variety of programs.

Without testing a another cpu in your system, mind you, you have changed the mobo.

Fresh install of windows, just to rule out any driver problems.

It soes look like a faulty gpu part of the CPU. Do you have a PCI-E card you can test with?

Also run your CPU at stock if you currently have it overclocked.

I havent overclocked the computer at all.
Don't think i have a spare graphics card laying around but will have a look, if not wont harm to buy one as it was on my future to buy list.

Will try a fresh install on the computer will put windows 7 on instead to see if any difference is made.

fresh copy of windows 7 and the problem still exists.

Have you tried re-installing the integrated GPU? By this I mean, go in to Device Manager and uninstall the card in there, Refresh and it should reinstall again... I was having some problems and totally uninstalling and reinstalling seemed to work for me.

Other than that, you can try find the motherboard and go on the manufacturer's forum to see if anything has been posted?

windows 7 was installed again,
the drivers were installed during the process.

that was before the reinstall of windows so wouldnt be that.

Maybe if you've replaced the mobo and it's still happening could be connectors to the PSU or the PSU itself?

no it can happen at any time.
i dont have to open anything, the computer can be idle.

What are your temps ? You can check CPU's radiator temp by hand - if software shows high temps like 70 deg and radiator is cold = it means bad cooling mount.
Did you try to reseat CPU ?

problem was happening on the old motherboard, got the motherboard swapped over and it still occurs. The cpu is seated correctly, the temps are all sub 50 on load.

Im pretty sure its not mobo or psu related. unsure on hdd ram and cpu although i did run memcheck for 12 hours without a fail.

I'm sure of it, otherwise it won't boot ;-)

Reseating helps when your mobo is equipped with Foxconn's CPU socket which makes troubles.

It would be perfect if you had possibility to check system with another CPU
