Hi guys, ive been having this problem for a little while now, i dont offten turn off my computer, i usualy just put it too sleep. The other day however i shut it down, and when i tried to switch it back on again i failed the bios post.
It seemed to get stuck just after it checked which cpu i was using...
This only ever happens now after i shutdown my computer, i have to restart it for everything to work fine again.

Can anyone point me into the right direction of what might be happining?
My system is
Giggabyte G1 Sniper (Rev 1.0) x58chipset
Intel I7 980 CPU
GTX 590
24giggs DDR3 Kingston Hyperx Ram (1600Mhz)

any help would be greatly apriciated as i am stumped on what to try next

sorry perhaps i wasnt clear when i say it fails it, it hangs, does nothing, ive tried reseting the cmos by removing the battery, no effect. once again this problem ONLY happens when i shutdown my system and then boot it again, if i turn off the power and start it up or hit the restart button everything works fine :S

when i turn of the splash screen and look to see where its getting stuck it lists the CPU and then does nothing.... could this be a faulty bios?
