I have just got infinity today which we have gone from 2mb to 23mb, which is a nice upgrade.
Only problem is my pc has a wireless G pci card, I am getting good signal and is connected to the router at 54mbps. Though when I do a speedtest I only get 0.5mbps download and 6mbps upload!
See I know this isn't correct as my brothers pc with a wireless N pci card (connected at 130mbps) gets ~20mb download on the same speed tester. I have swapped in a spare wireless G dongle into my pc which has now increased it to 7mbps, but it refuses to go above that.
Is that literally the limit for a 54mb G connection? I expected to be able to go quicker on it. Could it be any of my settings? I have gone off static ip to make sure it wasn't that, any other ideas? Or overall am I just best off buying a wireless N dongle for my pc?
Edit - Highest download rate I have seen with my G dongle is 750kbps which seems about correct for an 7mb connection.
