OK so I have just had BT Infinity 2 installed today and it has been working great until now. Been doing general browsing (this forum, YouTube, Facebook, google, wikipedia and a bit of online banking), also been download a couple of games from Steam, all working brilliantly, until now.

Tried opening google and got page cannot be displayed, tried opening my employers holiday booking site same again, however I can still access the forum, facebook and steam.

Have tried rebooting my PC, HH3 and clearing my browsers history, cache, cookies etc all to no avail.

Any more I can do? HH3 manager says everything is working correctly, vDSL light is on on the modem and BB light is on on the HH3. Really confused that the only sites not affected are here, facebook and steam.

This even occurs when steam isn't running.

EDIT: Browser is Mozilla Waterfox, but also doing it in IE

EDIT2: Even more odd is I can access Google Images, Maps etc just not standard search

DNS? Try manually setting your DNS in your network adapter to OpenDNS and/or Google DNS.

I use a combination of both, 208.67.222.222 and 8.8.8.8

Tried DNS gave me access to google etc but now can't access the forums or facebook lol. Went back to automatically obtain and still can't access forums or facebook. Posting from my phone atm

Uninstall any security software and 'Rapport' if you have it installed, reboot and retest. Do you have another machine/phone/tablet you can test various websites on?

As KIA says try a traceroute, this can identify routing (ISP side) issues.

Think its a problem in this area, as I've been having the same issue. For example, amazon.com is fine, amazon.co.uk won't display. Twitter loads, but t.co short links don't respond.

I'll be giving BT a call later if it doesn't resolve itself.

EDIT: I've tried various DNS servers but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Just an update to this (although I guess it only affects SilverTongue and I) - the BT fault site is now showing a known issue in this area, with an estimated resolution time of "03/04/2013 at 12:00 AM".

I'm still experiencing problems though :(

Did tracert's to various sites that I couldn't get to and they all timed out on the 10th hop, did a search on google using my phones 3g and it came up as a server for by. 3g on my phone is fine but if I use WiFi its the same sites causing issues.
Rang BT last night and they were at a loss as to what the problem was and are ringing me back tonight to find out if it has resolved itself.

@lokkers seems to be the same sites as me. Although I tried this morning before work and stilll nothing. Hopefully I'll be home to test again before they ring. Also whereabouts in Farnborough are you, I'll point out that I'm not the only one in tbthe area having probl

I'm just off Trunk Road. Whereabouts are you?

Pop your phone number in here, should give you the fault status. No change for me, and I'm still suffering from intermittent service. Twitter will load tonight, but Facebook won't, for example. Ironically, even the fault checker site won't open for me now (it did half hour ago).

Well just put phone number in and got a fault at BT Retail services and a fault on the line with an ETA of 8am tomorrow. I'm just off Fernhill Road

Normal service seems to have been restored this morning, although the fault checker is still showing an issue.
