Odd Q. Not sure if this is right forum or not.

Hi all. I have a cheesy cheap webcam and using messenger 7.5. I make regular voice and video calls at the same time across the Atlantic to the states.

The voice and video are incredibly patchy, video on its own stuttery, but voice on its own is crystal clear, although i'm sure this is more to do with my cheapy web cam.

I am using talk talk broadband but notice that after 10 minutes of chatting I get disconnected and have to resend the invite. This always seems to be dead on 10 minutes. Is ther some kind of built in cut off timer with the software or otherwise?

post this in the networking forum...

i bet its your internet connection's upload being saturated - basically you need a faster upload to cope with BOTH audio and video simultaneously.

I think thats what it is... not sure about the 10mins - could be some sort of error/timeout cut off - as your starving upload, it may be struggling so much that it times out or stops reposnding for some packets not being send within the time limit.

Just an idea...

Alex
