As title really. I am planning on selling a motherboard, but I have no original box to send it in. I have loads of anti-static bags, but going to need more than just that.

What would you people deem acceptable packaging?

It might seem a silly question, but I don't want any come-back should anything happen to the board in transit!

Anti-static bags and some bubble wrap would be a pretty good substitute for the correct packaging, if you've got some soft foam that would do provided you aren't likely to be damaging the motherboard when packing it in. If you have neither then newspaper as Antar Bolaeisk suggests is probably the next best bet.

This, and try to use as sturdy a box as possible (because royal mail treat packages as footballs) and if you're not sure if youve packed it correctly give it a shake to try and hear it move inside the box. (if it moves pack it tighter)

I have plenty of anti-static bags and bubble wrap. Might have to buy a box, not sure I have anything large enough.

Pretty much confirmed my initial thoughts, but it is always good to run it by OcUK first! :p

For the box you could always try at your local supermarket, I believe that Lidl often has some spare boxes by the end of the checkouts but just ask a member of staff wherever and they'll probably be happy to help. Your local PC emporium may also have something suitable as they'll get through lots of packaging.

Ohh, good point. I'll nip into a PC shop around the corner - they may have just the thing.
