This strange error has happened twice now with my work laptop connected to a monitor.
Basically, it all working fine. The laptop switched itself off, ran out off battery, when switch back on the monitor displayed an error message saying the frequently is wrong. It does has a picture but not full screen. No matter what setting I set on the laptop the error message wouldn't go away or the picture go full screen.
So, I swap the monitor with a spare and it all works.
Now, his the very weird bit. I just came back to my laptop after making some tea, it again switched off but now the new monitor has the very same error message on it! I switched back to the previous monitor and magically the error go aways. No settings, cables etc were changed.
Any ideas what happening?
Note, both monitors only have VGA input and it connected to the laptop via a HDMI to VGA adapter. Running at 1080p 60hz.
