odd resolution question. 2 displays - different res on each?

as my primary screen i have a 3007 dell monitor that runs at 2650x1600, the 2nd display is my sony projector. this runs @ 1280x720.

i want to run both at the same time in a clone mode. prob is of course, you cant do this on different resolutions.

ideally what i would like to do is send the projector a display of 2650x1600 and resize it to a 1280x720 for the projector. that may get around it.

does any software allow you to do this? ultramon etc?

i *can* extend my desktop to the projector with 2 different resolutions but overlay is a prob at that point.

anyone have any suggestions?

if any software can, it would be ultramon. Give it a try and see if you can add some custom clone resolutions or something

1280x720 spanning around 2650x1600 is just plain weird

Would be interesting to hear if you solve this, I got a barco 808 and a sony 32" tv running off a radeon gcard, and the tv (via svideo) has a tiny resolution and you have to whizz the mouse round a huge desktop...!

thats the problem i have. i can span across 2-3 screens fine with different resolutions.

i am asking on the ultramon forums but havent had a reply to this Q yet.

i would have no prob with spanning if overlay worked on all screens

will update with whatever results i have tho
