Odd Seasonic Behaviour

Wanted to get some thoughts on a problem I've had.

I've had a new Seasonic 850w Prime TX's Titanium's delivered recently. (which was then RMA'd).
Both came out the box with an odd fault condition.

System Boots to windows, as soon as Windows Initialises the GTX1060, black screens, fans ramp up to full speed and just sits there doing nothing with fans spinning. If I boot into the BIOS, it'll happily sit there for an hour without issue.

A quick multi-meter check on a Molex shows 12v and 5v rails are spot on when the issue occurs.

Swap over to an older Corsair RMx 650 watt unit, system boots without issue.

It's almost as if one of the rails is resetting.

Anyone seen behaviour like this from a PSU before?

Systems as Gigabyte Aorus Master X570 / 5900X / GTX1060. Not a heavy load by any means

Guess it could be a bad batch but would be curious if I've missed something obvious. Never had a PSU react in this way before as if it's perfect, but not.

Seems you have my same bad luck then :)

I've read good reviews on them but this is either just bad luck to get 2 bad units, or something whacky is going on with my particular setup. Either way, suspect I'll stick with Corsair going forward once OcUK has some of the sensible wattage units back in stock.

Had a Seasonic GX850 a few weeks back that was faulty on arrival. Box was sealed with the plastic wrapping on it still but the fan doesn't spin. I know its got a hybrid mode but regardless of what load it was at and whether hybrid mode was on or off the fan wouldn't spin. Sent it back for a replacement and the new one works perfect. Makes you wonder whats going on with the QC department.

Had another seasonic back in the day around 2014 that exploded, sparks and all! Luckily OCP kicked in and didn't damage any hardware. Had SLI 680's in that machine :o.

Thanks @Purgatory , Will do some reading on those. Not a brand I'd considered as I haven't had any experience with them before but maybe worth a look.

@EsaT -> Didn't see anything obvious in there. Not of the actual failure points but after a couple of failed boots, it does go into windows recovery mode. My guess is the failure occurs when Windows initialises the Nvidia driver which is probably causing a power increase. It's just odd that it works fine with any other PSU in the system.

Thanks All, will go do a bit more research before my next purchase :|
