Hey,

I'm having a slight problem with a clients server. our software needs access to the internet to sync with our webserver. usually we have admin details added to our on scheduler so that the task can login and access the internet. in all the other places where this software is installed it works fine.

With this one particular server if the server is logged off it cannot access the internet, we have also run the test using the windows scheduler to make sure it is not just our software that is causing the problems.

If the server is logged in, it has no problems running the task and sycning with our webserver but as soon as its logged off it cannot access the internet.

any idea's on what might stop a server from accessing the internet when logged off?

thanks

the scheduler is running as administrator with password supplied for the task. proxy is all setup correctly, if the user is logged off when the task runs, would the proxy be running as a service or a program on the server? if when the task is run the proxy as a service is not started this would stop the task accessing the internet?

I'm a bit confused, what does your scheduled task do?

For normal internet access do you go through a proxy server that validates the user account, e.g. ISA server?
