Just moved my pc into a new case and my cpu temps seam odd! its on a water cooled loop but im finding my temps quite high! this is running prime 95 on all 4 cores. Is it normal to vary from core 0 so much?

Also idle temp is about 46/50 but my gpu is idle around 30 and on full load max about 57.

cpu is on stock volts but a big overclock to 4.8ghz.

STOCK VOLTS AREN'T A THING.

To clarify, at stock your automatically board gives the whatever voltage either the chip or the board wants to (I forget which applies to ivy bridge). At stock frequencies this voltage is well below the unsafe boundaries of core voltage. However with 4.8Ghz on auto, all rules go out the window and it ramps voltage to whatever it really wants (probably to a max of 1.52V)

As per above you shouldn't run it on auto volts with that kind of overclock. Also what CPU have you gone for ?? Either way, I would go back and re-check the CPU cooler to make sure it's properly mounted, as well as re-pasting the CPU. Chances are one of them things are causing issues, taking into account that there is a 17c difference between core 0 & core 2.

Liam.

4.8GHz is ambitious with a non de-lidded Ivy bridge CPU, and if you have the volts on auto, then I'm not surprised your into the 90s

Ok I've put new thermal compound on, removed block and cleaned inside of block. New mayhems green pre mix.

I'll check temps over next few days.

I've also added a new 1080 ti to loop!

To be fair this pc never crashes, it's been rock solid at this over clock since day one.
