Odd Vista problem

When I boot Vista from cold (ie has been off all night), it starts as normal but as soon as I open any applications it freezes, screen/mouse/keyboard just freeze. I reset and everything is fine from then, no more problems.

This only happens on first boot.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a driver issue. Possibly the motherboard drivers and power management.
