I have this odd problem, when you open a file full of pictures,m they all display the little thumbnails just fine but when you open some of them in a Windows Preview pane all that will come up is a thin horizontal line and consequently, clicking "Set as desktop background" it will only show the thin horizontal line on the desktop.
However opening the file in photoshop will display the picture correctly.
