Hi all,

I have been stumped by a computer problem i have come across.

Basically this laptop, coupled with a PCMCIA wireless card will only connect after resuming from sleep mode.

It's a Packard Bell laptop with XP SP3 and a Belkin wireless card.

I have tried the laptop with different wireless routers, same problem. I have tried a different PCMCIA card and also, same problem.

BEFORE putting the computer to sleep a wireless search reveals the available networks, security settings are detected correctly but the computer will not connect. It just says "Automatic" next to the SSID.

I tried a Netgear PCMCIA card and the Netgear software, the Netgear software wouldn't connect until the computer resumed from sleep.

So, any clues or ideas?

Cheers,

Chris

I have now tried...
Re-installing the Belkin PCMCIA drivers.
Uninstalled XP SP3.
Switched off all security on the AP.
Used the Belkin and Windows Zero config software.

All the same problem.

Wireless connection is found and security settings are correctly detected however it will just not connect.

Put the computer to sleep, wake it back up and it connects within around 10-15seconds!
