I had my conroe e6600 at 2.9ghz (323x9 on a divider) ever since i had it and yesterday i decided to get a round number by pushing it to 3ghz (429x7 1:1) which it does and is stable, but 2 things are bothering me...
1) In cpuz it reports the correct freq of the processor but in system in control panel and in every other programme like 3dmark it reports it at 3.8ghz
and 2) I get a lower pc mark score at 3ghz than i did when i was on 2.9ghz, i seem to score a lot worse on multithreaded audio compression, file encryption transparent windows and hdd virus scan.?????????
Something is a bit off, if anyone has any clues it would be very much appreciated.
