Assuming I wanted to make a fairly precise 3.5" hole in a faceplate that was a bit too thick for a stanley knife. Best methods folks? Drill and coping saw?

Bought a dremel a while back but I can't seem to find the right disk to do a good job on the cutting.

There's some discs by dremel which are suppose to be just for plastic, although they look like normal ones, so not sure what the difference is. Product code is SC476 & will also need mandrel SC402

Ahhh to make it clear (sorry) it's essentially a 3.5" external drive shaped hole in a plastic cover (so square). I re-read my question and it's not really that clear.

Basically a letterbox cut.

drill a hole big enough to fit a jigsaw blade into, drill halfway between the edges then cut towards each corner, thus giving you a nice sharp corner

If you have a Dremel and the right cutting discs you might as well do that, but on the other hand if you have a Drill and a coping saw, that'll do fine also. Basically whichever tools you have, use those :)
