Oddworld games.....

Just started playing Abe's Oddysey. Kind of a cross between Prince Of Persia (Original) and Lemmings!!?!?

Good fun though and for a game that must be about 10 years old (right?) it looks pretty good

Got the sequal too, Abe's Exodus, but I haven't installed it yet, gonna do them in order . Are the later games any good?

First two are two of the best games I have ever playe.

Munches Odyssee on the xbox was lacking i thought, didnt have the darkness of the first two games.

The FPS I found awful tbh

I thought Munch's Oddysey was pretty decent. Haven't played the latest one, hear it's a bit poo.

The devs had this whole big plan that they were going to make 6 games all based around different characters on Oddworld, and each game would be a different genre. That didn't really work out very well. Munch's oddysey was pretty much just like the first two (which in the devs' minds only counted as one game) but in 3D and not quite as good, and Strangers Wrath just bombed. Now they have quit the business and are apparently making films instead.

Yeh abes oddysee and exodus are classics, 2 of my fav games

it was supposed to be 5 games
didnt know they stopped

they should make more 2d abe games

I finished the first one twice. Loved it...thought it was a bit short though.

I remember playing the first two with my brother on the original Playstation, was so hard don't think I ever completed either of them

i remember sunday's sitting down with my dad playing these. brilliant games.

got the old xbox one, abes muchworld i think, or something like that, completed it, was a decent enough game, but not worthy of the abe

Oh wow, there's a blast from the past! Abe is a legend. If i was to track a copy down (gotta be cheap now!) would it work out of the box on XP?

The Abe games were one of those rare gaming moments when someone really does concentrate heavily on gameplay over style and gets everything right.
I suppose a recent example of that is the Katamari games, which although absurdly simple are an absolute joy to play.

As much as I'd love to see more Abe games, it's one of those franchises that stopped at the right time to make it a true classic.
It's like the videogame equivalent of Fawlty Towers.

Awesome games -played the 1st couple on the psx way back about a decade ago or thereabouts. I used to go over to a mate's house to play Duke Nukem with link cable & we would stick exodus on every so often for a break from the action. Exodus was the one where you could possess your farts wasn't it?

I remember being totally blown away by the graphics like when the screen went all swirly when you completed each little section.

Ah, them were the days alright....

Actually I bought a copy of oddysee and exodus last year for my son to play on his aging psx (why oh why did I sell all my own psx games). They were too hard for him though so I ended up playing them on my pc through an emulator after he'd gone to bed. Worked pretty well but it was a bit awkward using the keyboard.

Abes oddysee, good god thats taking me back to the Playstation days as a kid, man you have just brought up some very fond memories of the first couple of games, absoloutly loved the sick twisted atmosphere about them as a kid!

Abe was awesome. In fact it was my first PSx game

Unfortunately the disc was involved in an accident and is unplayable

I shall have to find it again because I loved that game so much...

shame i gave my PSX away i woudl have put it on.....

i remember the graphics, and well at that age, the fact that your farts were actually useful was well......
