In Outlook Express the prompt to free up disk space I am led to believe should only occur every 100 times you open the application. It happens on mine every time. I do not need to free up disk space and find this prompt annoying every time.
How do I get rid of it. I have been told that the only way is to allow the compacting and then it will be prompt free for another 100 uses. I would rather not take the risk if there is another way. Thanks.

AFAIK all that happens when you compress the folders is you allow the deleted e-mails to be permanently removed to free up hard drive space?

I don't know if there is a way to stop the prompt as I should think over time, your folder will become very bloated possibly slowing Outlook Express down when reading e-mails for example?
