OE6 SP2 - replies use wrong account

OK, this is Outlook Express under XP Pro.


I have five e-mail accounts. All are aliases actually picking up from the same ISP mail server and the same account on it. OE lists them in alphabetical order of the name presented to the outside world. Now the one set as default is number 3, as that's the one I nearly always use. If I start a new e-mail, then OE correctly uses that one. But whenever I hit "Reply" OE always sets the reply as coming from account number 1 - the first alphabetically. Since the name is completely different to my normal account is confuses the **** out of recipients who don't know me.

OE is set correctly, and the registry entry for OE shows number 3 as default. So why do replies come from number 1? And how do I stop it? I can't change the names of 1 and 2 to ge them to list after number 3.

When replying to an email, Outlook Express uses the account that the email arrived on by default. Double check the account that the email your replying to arrived on.
 
The people concerned usually only know account number 3 - and that's what the incoming one usually arrives on (I've just checked). The only exception is cases whether I've accidentally replied with account 1 and not noticed, and they've replied to that. But people who could not possibly know about account 1 have that come up when I hit reply.

Reply address in all accounts can be set to reply to just one. Check the account options for each account.
