OEM C2Ds

Practically all the C2Ds on the consumer market at the moment seem to be retail models. This presents no advantage for me as I like many will be using an after market cooler and am not concerned about extended warranty, since I'm unlikely to have a new chip for much more than a year anyway. I'd far rather pay less for an OEM version. Most e-tailers seemed to have at least the 6300 in OEM, but now even these have disappeared.

What's the consensus on why there only seem to be retail versions available, and where have all the OEM chips gone? Are they all being swallowed up by manufacturers leaving none for the domestic builder? Is there any knowledge as to when OEM C2Ds might become widely available across the board in terms of models?

Apologies if this has been covered, I had a quick search but couldn't find anything.

OEM C2Ds were widely available at release

Only E6300 iirc

Maybe I wasn't looking in the right places :). OcUK currently don't sell any OEM nor do their famous competitor whose name begins with a "S".

Fair point re: the fan, but I was hoping to find out for curiosity's sake if nothing else why the OEM chips aren't wideley available, i.e. how the market for these things works.
